Christmas is a festival that everyone in this world celebrates as it marks one of the biggest celebrations towards the end of the year. Especially, the kids around the world like Christmas celebrations due to the decorations, colors, gifts, and the fact that they get to see their favorite person: “Santa.”
But do all the kids get the joy and experience of celebrating Christmas? Not all kids.
This is where Rotaract Club of SLIIT initiated the project “Christmas for Everyone” to spread the love and celebrate Christmas with the kids who don’t get to celebrate it as others do. The initiative is happening this year for the fifth consecutive time to bring joy to the faces of kids.
The initiative is nothing without the generous donations we receive yearly. With monetary and other donations we receive, we pack them and then take them as Santas to bring smiles to those little hearts. We sing songs, play games, and spend some time. Then, gifts are given, and we watch them unwrapping those gifts and getting excited, a moment that cannot be explained in words. This has been happening in a loop for five consecutive years, and this year it will take place on the 29th of December 2022 at Lunawa Church, Moratuwa. The gifts are packed, and we are getting ready to spend those priceless moments with those lovely kids again this year.
The project has been extremely significant for our club since it is one of our signature projects and one of the most impactful initiatives where the members of the club also have a great time contributing. As the Rotaractors of Rotaract Club of SLIIT are therefore hoping to conduct more initiatives similar to ‘Christmas for Everyone’ to bring a smile to children’s faces.
