Jingles, organized by the Rotaract Club of Colombo East and CfPS Law School, returned, bigger and better, after a two-year break. This was one of the most anticipated Christmas Carnivals, and it took place on December 18th at the Racecourse Promenade from 5 pm onwards.
The night featured a variety of festivities that set the Christmas atmosphere, making Colombo the liveliest place to be, with a confluence of great music and ambience in the air. The throbbing sounds of Yaka Crew, Channuka, Ama, Blaze, DJ Sash, and many other artists kept everyone on their toes while the swirl of lights and other activities set the tone for the day, evoking a carnival atmosphere. Live performances from these emerging artists and bands provided a festive backdrop to everyone’s carnival experience. In fact, is there anything better than hearing your favorite hit live and in person? Jingles 2022 delivered a fun time for everybody, and the event had entertaining games in store for all ages to keep everyone up for a thrilling night.
Not just that, the overwhelming number and diversity of food vendors made JINGLES so unique. There were numerous food stalls put up within the premises, including Maqara, Taco Bell, Colombo Foods, and many more, making it a foodie’s paradise. It also gave an essential chance for vendors of all types of food and drink and other products to set up their stalls and present their valuable products to some ardent customers.
The key attraction of Jingles this year was the screening of the FIFA World cup. Football is one of the few things that connect people and build bonds. Therefore, the Jingles organizing committee had the FIFA World Cup Finals screening at the event premises to provide a chance for all football fans to watch the action unfold and cheer for their favorite team together. The winning moment was a sight as the crowd cheered with joy while Yaka Crew hyped up the moment with some papare beats.
“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is by singing loud for all to hear.” That’s why Jingles 2022 delivered one hell of a night as promised, with a chance to celebrate Christmas in the presence of quality company and with great music, good food, and the perfect vibe.
